Inspired by the story of Davy Jones cutting his own heart from his chest. After he betrayed the sea goddess Calypso, who had forsaken him prior to his betrayal. Jones carved out his heart in order to no longer feel the grief and guilt at what he had done or any emotion of love again.

As a Métis women I use my art as a way to honor the spirits of each animal. Preserved in an Eco friendly fixative the center piece is a refurbished lamb heart, acquired before becoming waste. After being mummified it's then attached to a mirror base with resin, inside a beautiful glass box.
